Cigars need time to reach their plenary aptitude.  Some cigars require five to ten years of aging to reach their flavor profile.  Others offer a delightful flavor profile from the inception. It is important to find the right harmony.  Maintaining cigars require the ideal temperature and relative humidity.

Not storing your cigars appropriately will negatively influence the excellence and savor of the cigar. Storing your cigars in a humidor that can sustain accurate command over temperature and humidity levels will fortify your investment. The humidor’s volume should be greater than the number of cigars you intend to store. Cigar humidors have a cigar count that is perfect for its configuration and dimensions.  The capacity can range from a few cigars to thousands.  Humidors need adequate airflow. Overpopulating the humidor with cigars will have a negative effect on the temperature and humidity inside. If you plan on storing 40 cigars, we recommend getting a humidor that can hold up to 100 cigars.

Many aficionados amass a medley of cigars.  To indulge their aspirations they may range from mild, medium, to full bodied. These cigars must be estranged from each other or it will have a detrimental effect on the flavor profile and aroma.  To circumvent this, spend money on a humidor with multiple drawers and or compartments, if you intend to retain several classification of cigars in one humidor.

There are different categories of humidors to choose from.  Based on your needs, humidors are available in four types.  These include cabinets, end-tables, desk-tops, and travel humidors. Humidors are obtainable in dark cherry, mahogany, walnut, glass, stainless steel, plastic and more.

When pondering what to look for when acquiring a humidor, consider your atmospheric conditions. If you live in a locale that encounters moderate temperatures year-round, there won’t be any impediments to perpetuating the consummate conditions. If you dwell in a province that undergoes extreme winters and hot summers, it may influence the way your humidor functions. These extremities can be managed with an electronic humidification system.

The wood you choose has an effect on the humidor’s ability to maintain the ideal temperature and moisture.  The finest cigar humidors have their interiors lined with Spanish Cedar.  These humidors provide insulation and protection resistant to tobacco beetles and insects.

The humidor’s seal is of great consequence.  It should be impervious to sustain the consummate environment.  Cigars should be kept at 70 degrees F with a relative humidity of 70%. Humidor without a good seal will desecrate cigars.

Hygrometer are exceptionally momentous. It measures the moisture content within the humidor.  A thermometer measures and indicates the temperature. Both are of the utmost importance to connoisseurs. They display through numerical values the environs within the humidor. A humidor that has an integrated hygrometer and thermometer makes continuance uncomplicated.

Put money into a humidification system. There are different types of humidifiers depending on necessity. Utilize distilled water or Propylene Glycol (PG) solution.

Sustaining a cigar humidor requires exertion. The humidor must be seasoned.  This process could take up to 2 weeks. Nevertheless, it is well worth the achievement.
